Green development orientation

Welcoming guests early, to ensure the best conditions for serving tourists, especially in the summer tourist season, the district encourages tourism businesses to develop new tourism products in accordance with local planning and the needs of tourists. From the beginning of the year, the district has oriented in developing tourism products and services that meet green criteria: Accommodation facilities, services labeled with no plastic waste, tours without plastic waste, tourism programs combined with garbage collection…

Year Currently, Co To district has 7 new tourism products expected to be put into operation this summer. The products are not only concentrated on the large Co To island but also expanded to some neighboring islands. In particular, the large island has a sports and entertainment complex product combining sunset viewing on Tinh Yeu beach, cycling to experience Co To at night, healing tourism and virtual reality tourism products at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site on the island, then visiting the 7-star island in Dong Tien commune. Tran Island Village – “Northeast Truong Sa” has a journey tour for the homeland’s sea and islands and a night camping product at Ba Chau beach.

The boat racing competition connecting island districts nationwide was held for the first time in Co To, attracting a large number of tourists and locals to watch.

Responding to the district’s policy of welcoming guests early, up to now, most businesses in the area have upgraded their facilities and tourism services to be ready to welcome guests. Both Van Chay tourist beaches and Hong Van are also ready to welcome guests from March 20 after a temporary suspension of operations to repair and upgrade facilities and infrastructure in October 2023. The Department of Culture, Information and Tourism of Co To has coordinated with the Tourism and Media Association to launch a general cleaning of the beach environment at Mong Rong rock beach and the islands of Co To Con, Ca Carp, and Bac Van beach.

In conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the district’s establishment, localities in the area have also paid attention to and mobilized resources to improve the appearance of urban and rural areas, clean up the environment of roads and beaches, have plans to ensure security, safety, prevent drowning, fires, and release of pets (dogs, cats), and livestock, and proactively coordinate with relevant agencies and units to ensure a safe and attractive tourism environment in the area.
